It's snowing mountains here in London and forecast says it will all weekend. Now, I don't particularly trust weather forecasts, but since both David and I are flat broke (and when aren't we ever), the best options for the weekend seem to be stay in with some movies (and bake vegan cookies, but that's a different post.).
On my Movies I'm Dying to See List (and one I just saw!)
(already saw it!)
I am boycotting the Oscars this year. It is a sad, sad world where Tarantino's latest violence-fest is nominated and this beautiful French tale of male friendship is not. I first got the tip from some friends, then Jared Leto tweeted about it - that's how I knew I had to see it, so last weekend I did. You haven't yet? Check it out now!
Silver Linings Playbook.
I don't really know what this movie is about but somehow I'm sure I'll like it. I think I like Jennifer Lawrence. I haven't seen her in a movie yet, but I like the idea of her.
It's un-downloadable and un-streamable anywhere (Netflix, I officially quit you!) but I'll find it. I WILL find it! If only because I have a bit of a secret crush on Josh Radnor.
Is it funny? Is it silly? Is it Emma Stone? I want to watch it.
I don't 100% want to see this because SPOILERSPOILER!!!! I've read the book and loved it until that devastating ending. I know I'm going to cry like a little baby. But somehow, I still want, need, can't wait to see this movie.
No reason except it's on UK TV on Sunday night, so I'll definitely end up watching it. And Meryl Streep's in it!
Last weekend David and I watched Armageddon (he fell asleep! How can a guy fall asleep to anything where he gets to look at Liv Tyler? Frankly, I'm a bit worried) and Role Models - not my proudest cinematic moment, but a heck of a laugh. If you have any tips for a Snowy Broke Weekend movie, let me know!
