Seven Women That I Want to Be

Alicia Silverstone

I don't only love her for the fabulous Aerosmith videos and Clueless - Alicia inspires me because she's dedicated her life to being kind and compassionate, and teaching others to do so! She inspired me to go vegan and is pretty much my role model. I love her website The Kind Life!

Livia Firth

She's stylish, she's gorgeous - and she's an eco-lifestyle queen. And oh, she's Colin Firth's wife! I love the fact that she's chosen to use her A-list status to promote an Earth-saving cause. Not only does this lady wear some truly amazing eco-fashion on the "green" carpet, she's just as inspiring in person - I've met her! You can find Livia's work at Eco Age.

Stella McCartney

Stella's the only designer who's managed to complete the miracle work of bringing cruelty-free fashion into the haute salons of Fashion Week - every It girl out there covets her leather-free accessories. I, for one (even though couldn't be farther from an It girl), would jump through flaming hoops for a Falabella.

Natalie Portman

Not only was she my childhood favourite actress in Léon, but her performance in Black Swan was some of the best acting I've ever seen. Natalie is Harvard-educated, an Oscar winner and a vegan who stayed vegan through her pregnancy with son Aleph. And she's had a vegan wedding - to dancer and coreographer Benjamin Millepied. Plus, she had vegan shoes custom-made for her Dior ad! This woman is my definition of kick-ass.

Kris Carr

This lady kicked cancer's ass - now what's more kick-ass than that? Kris got diagnosed with cancer in 2003 and used her diet and lifestyle changes to not only beat it, but become healthier than she'd ever been - with a raw vegan diet. She's teaching her healthy-living secrets in cookbooks and on her website, and every time I see one of her videos, she just shines with this healthy, joyful glow that I envy the heck out of. Can you believe she's forty-something?

Zooey Deschanel

Zooey inspires me because she represents quirky and charming femininity as opposed to the steamy, sexy stereotype. She's an awesome singer and runs the World's Best Website Ever, HelloGiggles, with two other awesomeness queens, Molly McAleer and Sophia Rossi. (500) Days of Summer is one of my favourite movies in the world and, well, don't get me started on New Girl as we'll be here all day.

Pamela Des Barres

I love Miss Pamela, she's a kick-ass babe and the poster girl for living your life to the fullest! Her book I'm With The Band is on my all-time top five and I'll always be in awe of the life she's lived as a rock groupie in the Sixties and Seventies. Instead of fading away like most groupies did, Pamela made a name for herself as a rock history expert and a fantastic writer. Her writing honestly blows my mind and I'd love to take one of her writing classes in LA one day!
