Baron Wolman's The Groupies

Today I went to see an amazing exhibition!

I have already talked about my passion for groupies; I think it's the historical phenomenon that fascinates me more than any other. That period of time is so full of freedom, creativity and amazing music, and I like to think that in a past life I was a groupie.

Today was the last day of Baron Wolman's The Groupies exhibition here in London, so I braved the cold (winter is coming, guys) and made sure I didn't miss it. And am I glad I did!

It's not easy to take photos in an art gallery, but I still wanted it to be my pics, not ones you can get off the internet. The above picture is of my favourite groupie and one of my favourite people in history: the legendary Pamela Des Barres, the most amazing groupie ever and the author of I'm With the Band, one of the best books I've ever read, and her girl group GTOs (Girls Together Outrageously).

To me these pictures have such an amazing aesthetic. You can really feel the free-spirited, fun-loving rock n'roll atmosphere of the Sixties and Seventies. Every time I look at these pictures, I'm inspired to live my life to the fullest, because that to me is what the groupies were all about.
