Saturday at Portobello Market

Since I moved here, I feel like I'm on a non-stop vacation, partly because there's so much to see, experience and explore, and partly because people keep coming to visit. Last week, a friend from Milan came over to visit another friend of his that lives here, so we spent the weekend with them.

Saturday was Portobello day and I think it will be from now on for me - what an amazing place.

I know it's so very cliché and tourist of me, but give me a break, I just got here, and hey, if Arizona Muse and Lily Donaldson like it, then it's not too shabby for me (yes, I actually saw both aforementioned glamazons at Portobello this Saturday. Both out-of-this-world gorgeous).

Portobello market is an exotic mix of colours, sounds, scents and atmospheres. It's an explosion of multicultural wonderfulness, a shopping paradise and a perfect way to spend a Saturday (not only for the celeb-gazing).

Warning: if you're a shopaholic getting over your addiction, steer clear of this place. Bargains ahead!

If you're into vegan accessories like I am, Portobello is a goldmine. I found an amazing Marc Jacobs-inspired faux-leather bag (I suspect it's meant as a copy of the Sasha bag!) for £22, which my expert-haggler boyfriend brought down to £17.

Next stop: a good camera. With a bit of luck, you can get those at Portobello for under £100 (which David will haggle down to at least £60). And who can say no to £35 Hunter boots and £29 faux-leather jackets with big, fierce spikes adorning the shoulders? Portobello, I love you.

  1. I was in H&M yesterday (finally! We don't have one in NZ) and they had beautiful faux leather jackets too, absolute heaven.

    1. tusen tack Linn!
